14 may 2007 - Innsbruck, AT - Muhlsee: Line 6 of Innsbruck Tramways twists and turns up into the mountains with hardly a building in sight on its way to the village of Igls. Here is the lonely halt at Muhlsee with a 1904 Graz tram from the local tram museum passing on a special trip. Only the occasional hiker is picked up here! The tram originally came from the Stubaitalbahn, the other village interurban which runs out of Innsbruck and which, unlike this line, is served all year round.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck (AT) – TMB tramway museum. This Italian ‘Genoa’ type tram was built in 1943 for Belgrade, but was diverted to Innsbruck because of the war. It was unique, and the only modern tram in Innsbruck until the 1960s - in many respects it was still more technically-advanced than the new Lohner-built cars which then started to arrive. It has many PCC features. The museum group rescued this tram from Klagenfurt and have fully restored it to operating condition.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck (AT) – Igls, Bahnhof. A close-up view of one of the tiny, ex-steam tram, trailer cars built in 1900 for the Innsbruck Mittelgebirgsbahn (the line to Igls). Only 5.8 metres long, they look really funny behind a large bogie tram. It was normal to run trains of up to four of these trailers – they lasted in service until 1981!

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck (AT) – zajezdnia/betriebshof Bergisel. A line of museum cars in the IVB depot. Even without all the vehicles in the adjacent museum, there are plenty of nice old trams for excursions, including several of the tiny ex-horse car trailers from the former Innsbruck-Bad Hall line.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck (AT) – zajezdnia/betriebshof Bergisel. Snowbroom 200 is very old. I think that these days it is only used on the city streets – when the snow lays really deep along the mountain lines, something a lot more powerful is needed. Line 6 (Igls) is closed down all winter, anyway.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck (AT) - Igls, Bahnhof. The Plasser & Theurer train sets off back towards Innsbruck. There is even a shelter on the trailer, to keep the men dry. There are two matching trailers for the works car, which can pull either or both as required.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck (AT) – Igls, Bahnhof. IVB Innsbruck has this huge works tram and two matching trailers, all built by the Austrian Plasser & Theurer company. It looks as though it’s designed to go off along the remote Innsbruck mountain lines for several days at a time in the deep winter snow – it has comfortable crew accommodation and even a little wind gauge on the roof. Here at Igls, it dwarfs the Deuwag GT8 alongside.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck (AT) – Mulhsee. …..and this is why the Muhlsee stop isn’t much used! It’s situated on a mountain side, with no buildings to be seen in any direction! This is a special trip with museum trams, but the normal tram service also comes here.

12 february 2009 - Innsbruck, stacja Congress. Żółty wagonik numer 1 wjeżdża na stację dolną kolejki Hungeburgbahn. Intrygujący to wynalazek, pokonujący 288 m różnicy wysokości w czasie 8 minut 10 sekund. Z wagoników można oglądać piękne widoki miasta i okolic. Zaprojektowano go tak, aby w kontemplacji widoków przeszkadzało możliwie najmniej rzeczy - miejsce pracy prowadzącego znajduje się tylko po jednej stronie wagonu, tej zwróconej w górę, także stojąc w drugiej można podziwiać krajobrazy. Jednocześnie praktycznie cały wagonik jest przeszklony, włącznie z dachem. Jeden wagon składa się z 5 części połączonych ramą, w taki sposób aby podczas pokonywania stromych wzniesień przesuwać się względem siebie w pionie. Dwie liny znajdujące się między szynami stanowią napęd - każda z nich odpowiada za jeden z wagoników. Mijanka wagoników odbywa się na pełnym biegu, co jest możliwie dzięki sporej automatyzacji. Wagonik zatrzymuje się sam na stacjach, tak aby drzwi wypadały w wyznaczonych miejscach. W czasie jazdy kolejki na stacjach podniesione są specjalne bariery, uniemożliwiające wejście na tor. Kolejka kursuje w takcie 15 minutowym.

12 february 2009 - Innsbruck, stacja Hungerburg. Próbka tego jak malownicza jest ta trasa - w dole widać Innsbruck, dokąd wyrusza właśnie wagonik nr 1. Mam nadzieję, że przeżyjecie jakoś jego rozmazanie ;) Pozdrowienia dla towarzystwa na wyciecze, w tym jak łatwo się domyśleć po wcześniejszych zdjęciach MeWy ;)

12 february 2009 - Innsbruck, stacja Congress. Pierwszy i jedyny podzemny przystanek kolejki Hungerburg, wyruszającej z centrum miasta w kierunku stoków Nordpark. Na trasie o długości 1,838 m znajdują się cztery stacje. Nowa Hungerburgbahn, otwarta pod koniec 2007 r., to dzieło Zahy Hadid. Nie wszystko, co wjeżdża pod ziemię jest metrem, ale wszystko, co wjeżdża pod ziemię jest ciekawe.

14 may 2007 - Innsbruck, Austria/Osterreich. Historic tram #2 (ex-Stubiatalbahn) and trailers #111 and #104 (ex-Mittelgebirgsbahn) in the beautiful pine woods, near Tantegert on Line 6 from Igls. A charter trip operated on behalf of IVB by Tiroler Museumsbahnen volunteers. Tough work, but someone has to do it!
